Cervical screening (smear test)

Cervical screening is a key part of protecting your future health. The test checks for early cell changes that could develop into cervical cancer if left untreated. For most people, the procedure is quick and simple.

We recognise that some patients may feel worried or embarrassed about attending. Our clinical team aims to provide a sensitive, respectful and supportive environment to help you feel at ease throughout your appointment.

Further details are available in the FAQ leaflet below, along with a short video explaining what happens during a cervical screening appointment.
